Road Improvement Train to Tour the South
A special road education train begins May 1 from Mobile and runs through Alabama and Mississippi, visiting Meridian on June 3 at 10 a.m. The two-car exhibit features a lecture car with stereopticon and a second car with road-building models and photographs. Experts Winslow and Wells plus U S Department of Agriculture staff demonstrate economical road construction methods using sand, clay, and macadam. The Southern Railway and Mobile and Ohio sponsor at no charge, under federal guidance, to promote better roads and uniform laws across the South.

Intermediate students performed a May Festival on Wednesday while 36 girls in the Serpentine Drill impressed audiences Thursday. Friday featured a High School Negro Minstrel with strong performances by Cox, Hobson, Brown, Buchanan, and others.
