Dr. Jerry Wood named president of the Brady Red and Gun Club at a Plateau Restaurant breakfast. A 48 foot covered range under construction at the east end of Brady Lake offers 50 to 300 yard targets, skeet and trap shooting, with Lake Officer Pinkie Burns patrolling. Initiation is ten dollars, dues five annually, with two week charter membership drive.

Bands Set For UIL Contest In Brady On November 20
Thirty two bands totaling about 1899 students will compete in the UIL marching contest at Bulldog Stadium Brady. About 200 to 250 more may accompany as chaperones and family members. Bands are split into classes AAA AA A B and CCC with Gatesville leading the largest 100 piece ensemble and Glen Rose sending the smallest with 33 members.

Harvest Boosts Cotton Harvest in McCulloch County West Texas
McCulloch County gins reported 2 111 bales by 6 p m Wednesday with about one third of the crop picked. Lohn gin counted 1 005 bales, Dode 464, Fife 305 and Pearson 336, Brady warehouse weighing 2 850 bales. Samuelson says harvest continues at about 200 bales daily as fair weather persists. County Agent Kuykendall expects most of the crop to be gathered in the next week or two.
