Rabid Foxes Killings Reported in McCulloch County
A Health Department telegram from Austin reports two more rabid foxes killed in McCulloch County. One was shot at G R White's Ford Ranch by John Bratton, another near Rochelle by Hurd. Heads sent to Austin. three additional rabid foxes had been killed since September at Fairview, Lohn, and Salt Gap.

Water Conservation Plans Gaining Farm Bureau Back
McCulloch County Farm Bureau approved 16 resolutions at its annual meeting endorsing the Small Watershed Program upstream, a water users tax, joining the Lower Colorado River Authority, and supporting Soil Conservation Service and Bureau of Reclamation conservation efforts. Elected to two year terms were 11 directors headed by E T Williams and H D Bradley with delegates named to the Houston state convention. New by-laws take effect January 1.

Steffens to open a new florist shop on Saturday with morning to evening hours. Coffee and cake, door prizes, and flowers will be offered to visitors. 87 Car Freight Detour Through Brady After Derailment
A Sunday derailment north of Goldthwaite forced a long 87 car California freight to detour via Brady on Monday morning. The train, the longest seen in days, halted traffic on North Bridge Street for about an hour while crews redirected cars toward Eden and Brownwood. Earlier Sunday night, a separate derailment north of Goldthwaite involved 15 cars of an 80 car train carrying propane, grain, salt and sand. several cars caught fire and were destroyed.
