Twelve witnesses testified in a Brady court of inquiry into the bloody bombing of attorney Sam McCollum Ill. The proceeding, presided by Justice of Peace Joe Myrick, was closed to the public and no testimony was revealed. District Attorney Bill Alborn said no arrests or charges had been filed. J J Holmes, a gubernatorial candidate who offered a 10000 reward, testified that the reward generated many calls but nothing provable.

Brady man marks 90th birthday with family gathering
R M Jay of Brady, born in 1866 in Tyler County, celebrated his 90th birthday on October 13. He moved to Brady in 1901 and worked 40 years as a pioneer cattleman on the John Wall ranch. A Sunday party at 806 South Pecan honored him with cake baked by niece Maud Armstrong. he has two sons Bud and Joe, and granddaughter Rita Ann Jay is Bud’s daughter.
