UIL Band Marching Contest Set for Nov 20 at Brady
Brady will host the University Interscholastic League Region VII Band Marching and Twirling Contest on Saturday November 20. James Mallow the local band director says about 30 to 40 junior and senior high school bands will march in Bulldog Stadium with twirling events on the practice field.

McCulloch 4-H Clubs To Exhibit Stock At Dallas Fair
McCulloch County 4-H members will show livestock at the State Fair in Dallas from October 18. County Agent Lowell Kuykendall and several fathers and mothers accompany the group. Judging runs Wednesday and Thursday, with calf sales Friday and lambs and hogs Saturday. Participants include Ringer, Bratton, Whitworth, Deans and others showing calves lambs and hogs. group departs Sunday and returns the following Saturday.

Mrs Clare Haywood Plans Winter in Rockport

A Brady group led by Mayor John Rudder met with the Texas Aeronautics Commission in Austin to push for a matching funds grant for Curtis Field upgrades. The plan covers four items including a turn around area, apron rebuild and resurfacing, and a lighted wind cone with a 32,500 project cost.

Mrs Louise Striegler Jordan 87 was found dead at her 105 W Marshall home by her brother Wednesday about 1 30 pm. She was born March 1 1878 in Fredericksburg and had lived in McCulloch County over 45 years. Funeral 3 30 pm Thursday Wilkerson Chapel, burial Bethel Cemetery. Survivors include son Rey Lee Jordan of San Antonio, six sisters and two brothers.
