Gas Rates On Council's List Again
The City Council met in a 4 p m special session to review a requested permanent rate increase for Brady Municipal Gas Corp. after a 12.5 percent temporary rise was approved in October. The study led by Bill McMorries and Ruby Cude considered the full rate structure. Also on the agenda were choosing a new police chief, an unemployment compensation plan for city employees, and a pending housing rehabilitation program.

Coach Dean Bates leads the Brady Bulldogs as they start the 1977-78 basketball season with Lampasas in Bulldog gym. Freshmen play at 5 p m, junior varsity at 6 p m, and varsity at 7 30 p m. Five returning lettermen are listed, though Ira Routt misses practice due to a traffic accident and may not be ready for district play in January. Mrs Wulff Dies 88 Longtime County Pioneer
Laura Lee Wulff 88, early McCulloch County resident and former Library Board member, died at Heart of Texas Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. Born May 26, 1889 in Brady, she married F R Wulff in 1913. Funeral at St. Pauls Episcopal Church with burial at Live Oak Cemetery. Survivors include son Fred Wulff and grandchildren Bart, Katherine, and Emily. Contributions requested to charity.

Kiwanis Chief to Visit Brady for Official Talk
Charles B. Gillespie Jr. of Midland, governor of the Texas-Oklahoma Kiwanis district, will visit Brady Thursday night for Division 12 activities. He leads more than 17 500 Kiwanians in Texas and Oklahoma across about 470 clubs and promotes youth programs plus crime prevention efforts. He is a University of Oklahoma graduate, an independent oil producer, and owner of an oil well servicing company in Midland.

Brady Sales Tax Up 12 Percent From Last Year
Brady shows a 12 percent rise in sales tax revenue. October receipts rose to 11,641 from 9,340 a year earlier, with year to date rebates totaling 128,323 versus 114,013 last year. Nearby towns’ October and year totals cited: Ballinger 20,635 and 136, Mason 3,587 and 38,777, Eden 1,665 and 15,322, Fredericksburg 15,592 and 213,034, Coleman 7,421 and 186, Liano 6,577 and 75,439.
