Navy Lexington voyage diary of Texas press crew aboard
Texas journalists aboard the USS Lexington chronicle life at sea during air operations toward Hawaii. They describe meals, berths, battleship like size, 3000 crew, 1000 telephones, daily soot-blowing to keep boilers clean, and time changes as they race toward Pearl Harbor. Officers briefings, barber visit, and impressions of the carrier's vast operations are included.
