Santa Claus to Visit Brady on December 9
Santa Claus will fly in to Brady on Saturday December 9, landing at Curtis Field around 2 p.m. and escorted by a fire truck to the courthouse area where he will meet the McCulloch County children. He will stay until 5 p.m. and asks merchants to display toys and gifts for his selections. the visit is sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce.

Civil Defense Officials to Attend Parley in Austin
Four McCulloch County Civil Defense officers will attend the second annual State Conference of Civil Defense Directors in Austin November 13 and 14 at the Stephen F. Austin Hotel. Dunbar Steers of Brady travel to face Colorado City in three games at Brady High gym Monday. Boys B start at 6 30 p m, girls at 7 30 p m, and boys A after the girls. Brady Couple Returns From Ten Day Brazil Trip
Mr and Mrs A J Ricks returned from a ten day vacation to Rio de Janeiro Brazil traveling by jet at 700 mph and 1000 feet altitude. They toured Copacabana beach modern and ancient architecture and the Amazon River visiting islands aboard a sightseeing boat. They stayed at Hotel Quintandinha and noted Brady water usefulness after South America trip. Permits Issued To Kill Doe Deer In Mc Culloch County
Mc Culloch County landowners received 4631 permits to harvest doe deer for the season opening November 16. Texas Game and Fish official Rod Marburger said permits were mostly issued the first Monday and can be picked up at the Chamber of Commerce through Saturday 5 pm. Up to Thursday 61 landowners held permits covering 196 563 acres, with per acre ratios set for different county areas. Hunters may still tag two buck deer and may take one additional doe as a bonus if licensed, with extra licenses obtainable from Game Warden Bill Bennett if needed.
