City to Put Meters On Own Electricity
The City Council voted to install meters on the city's own electrical use for street lights water pumping and park and City Hall lighting. Electrical engineer Jack Covington from Abilene surveyed the system and predicted improvements this summer after radiator upgrade and generator rewiring at the power plant. He noted most issues are in secondary circuits and that metering will improve records and costs. Corrections will occur during winter to avoid large service disruptions.
