Prices for sugar have fallen from fall highs to about an $18.90 cut, while champagne and other wholesale prices have begun cutting. Traders expect modest rises later as laws allow small profits to persist in business. An informant notes a cement contract negotiation for a tanker load to be carried by the first vessel through a newly opened route.
