Brady High athlete Johnny Moran committed to Texas A&M College on an athletic scholarship. Moran, 6 foot 3 and about 200 pounds, earned all district honors in 1957 and 1958, lettered in football and track, played freshman basketball, and was active in Brady Bulldog Band and Stardusters. He is the son of Mr and Mrs John F Moran.

A noon Thursday fire damaged the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Williams on Voca Road about 200 yards southeast of Brady Mills. No occupants were present. neighbors reported smoke and called the alarm. The refrigerator is suspected as the start, with severe damage to the kitchen and smoke and water impact in other rooms.
