Two Brady Teachers Retire After Long Careers
Brady High School will see two veteran educators retire at year end. Mrs. E. J. Powell has 44 years in Brady Schools, teaching at the elementary and high school levels and coaching in many UIL events. Alonzo Reed Jr. leaves after 43 years, including 17 at Dunbar and six at Brady High, with coaching stints in basketball and track. Both plan travel and relaxation, with Powell noting the high value of a democratic, education minded community.

License Plate Deadline Near McCulloch County Office
The McCulloch County Tax Assessor-Collector’s office will close at noon on Saturday March 25 and April 1. It will also stay open during the noon hour the week before April 1 for license plate purchases. Tax Collector Vernon Waddill Jr. reports 1,462 passenger car plates sold as of Monday, about half of the typical 3,000.
