Sunrise Easter Services at Brady Lake
Easter services will be held Sunday at 7 a.m. at the Brady Lake pavilion with coffee and doughnuts at 6:30 a.m. Participants include Central Baptist Latin American Methodist Walnut Street Baptist Community Chapel Baptist Latin American Mission and St James Baptist. The Rev Mike Alvarez will give the message. In bad weather the service moves to First Baptist Church.

The first monthly Hill Country Antique Mart runs Saturday and Sunday at Richards Park. Free to the public, items include guns coins glass bottles date nails barbed wire Indian artifacts and lapidaries. The mart will be held on the first weekend of every month.

Peterek Named Manager at J C Penney Store
Al Peterek, 31, native of Cuero, takes over managerial duties at the local J C Penney Co. store effective March 27. He succeeds Bill Jefferies who moved to Helena Arkansas. Peterek is a Cuero High School graduate and has a long Penney’s career including roles in Seguin and Austin Highland Mall. He and wife Doris, expect their first child in August.

Sixty two units of blood were donated at the Bloodmobile visit at the Fourth and Bridge Street Church of Christ on Tuesday. McCulloch County Tax Assessor-Collector F W Waddill Jr announced that 3920 potential voters registered, surpassing the 1968 general election record of 3872. No year round deadline exists, but those voting in the May 6 primary must register by April 5.

Interest rose as Brady voters head to the polls Saturday April 1 for city and school trustee elections.
