Free Immunization Clinic Set At South Ward June 16
Free immunizations for DPT polio rubella and measles will be offered to all pre school children on June 16 at the South Ward Elementary School auditorium. Clinic hours are 9 am to noon and 1 to 3 pm. Mrs. James Dale Carson urges parents to bring their children for inoculations.

Brady Adds Big Gas Well Near Brookesmith
Brady Municipal Gas Corp. has brought in a new well one mile east of Brookesmith on the Connaway place delivering 500 000 cubic feet of natural gas daily. The well’s absolute open flow is four million but initial output was limited to 2 494 000 to prevent water damage. delivery to customers starts next week. Drilling to offset the well is under way.

Eden Couple Sues Brady ISD Over School Tax District
Will Ray Loveless and wife sue to determine whether land in Concho and McCulloch counties will pay taxes to Brady ISD or Eden ISD for Melvin County Line property. The case asks the 119th District Court to decide tax allocation while annexation issues delay collection. Exhibit A requests the Loveless couple sign tax renditions for the current year.

Leifeste Seeks Recount After Narrow County Judge Loss
Lamar Leifeste says he will request a recount of the June 5 county judge race after trailing Floyd Marshall by 10 votes. The 3,033 votes from the Second Democratic Primary were canvassed at the McCulloch County courthouse, declaring Marshall and Sheriff Bill Strickland winners. Leifeste plans to file with Democratic Chairman R. S. Moseley. official announcements will follow.

Nancy Beck Dies After Long Illness in Texas
Nancy Ann Beck aged 81 of Melvin died 9:15 p m Monday after a long illness in Heart of Texas Memorial Hospital. Funeral services were held Wednesday in Tulsa with burial in Kress Cemetery. She was born December 31 1894 in Kress and lived in Tulsa most of her life. Survivors include three daughters four sons a brother sixteen grandchildren and twenty three great grandchildren.
