Clark Farr Killed In Auto Mishap
Jefferson Clark Farr age 45 was killed instantly in a one vehicle crash about 8 45 p m Wednesday two point one miles east of Brady on the POW Camp Road. Farr co owned the Farr Corner on South Bridge Street and with Jimmy Ellison 38 were returning to Brady when Farr lost control of a 1973 Chevrolet pickup overturning the cab on the driver side. Ellison was treated for shock at Heart of Texas Memorial Hospital and Farr was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Joe Barekman. Services are pending at Wilkerson Funeral Home.

New Gas Well Aims to Ease Brady Energy Woes
A newly drilled gas well one mile east of Brookesmith Brown County is expected to deliver at least 0.5 million cubic feet of gas per day with payback under 40 days. Brady Municipal Gas Corp led by N L Dillard began work last Sunday reaching the Marble Falls reef at 1170 feet and preparing to drill deeper through limestone to total depth.

Brady City Council opened bids for ambulance service with Wilkerson Funeral Home offering two ambulances and six employees for 25 000 yearly payments. An amendment sought one more ambulance purchased from Brady Funeral Home for a five year term. Council delayed a decision awaiting County Commissioners and set June 15 as potential takeover date pending contract finalization and a 125 000 performance bond.
