Wool Incentive Set To Continue In 1959 Marketing Year
McCulloch County producers will receive an extended incentive payment of 62 cents per pound for wool and 1.02 per cwt for unshorn lambs during the 1959 marketing year April 1 1959 through March 31 1960. In 1958 wool sales totaled 1 796 817 lbs gross 714 979 74 with payments 469 787 85 after deductions for promotional funds and prior purchases. A September sheep producer referendum will decide if the promotional deduction continues.

Brady Firm Wins Eden Sewer Plant Contract
Brady & Son of Brady received a 146 956 contract for Eden sewer plant work after submitting the lowest bid from four a city council action. The project, under a state pollution program, covers 30 percent of costs up to 19 731 and follows a May bond issue of 160 000. Construction to start promptly with work beginning as equipment arrives.
Two Brady Explorer Scouts Attend Philmont Ranch Trip
Two Explorer Scouts from Brady, Bill Geeslin and Jimmy Atherton, left Friday night by bus for a two week stay at Philmont Scout Ranch in Cimarron New Mexico. They belong to Explorer Group 402 Brady with Kenneth Lindsay as scoutmaster.

Heavy Rains Bring Rainfall to Colorado Regions
Heavy rains drenched Coleman Paint Rock Ballinger and San Angelo Wednesday afternoon with up to three inches in places. Dr H Miller of Waldrip reported showers reaching near the river while McCulloch County stayed largely dry. Crops show moisture scarce but sorghum yields good. fodder cutting and hay baling continue as feed crops seek moisture.

City Applies for Brady Lake Water Permit
The City of Brady has filed with the Texas Board of Water Engineers to appropriate 4800 acre feet yearly from Brady Creek for municipal and industrial use. The plan includes a large dam west of Brady, a 30840 acre foot permanent pool, and storage up to about 60000 acre feet overall. Construction would begin within 730 days of approval and finish within 48 months. Congressman Fisher supports federal aid.

Brady High students pass state driver test in summer course
All 22 students in Brady High's behind-the-wheel summer driver education passed the state license test. Sixteen were in the first three weeks class and six in the second. the latter finished last Thursday. Instructor Boyd Hunt noted quality exceeded expectations and Superintendent Reynolds lamented the $25 tuition and lack of depreciation.

James P. Hadley Jr., son of Brady residents, attends four weeks of Air Force ROTC summer training at Luke Air Force Base Arizona. He observes aircraft including the T 33 F 84 and F 100 participates in operations and a half hour T 33 flight. Upon Texas A&M graduation he will be commissioned a second lieutenant and serve five years on active duty.

Freddie Lawrence, Brady High School golfer, scored a hole in one on the No. 8 hole at Brady Country Club. The 132 yard par 3 ace came with a No. 8 iron during a round with Kenneth Anderson, Norman Archer, and Dr. B A Hallum. Lawrence finished nine holes at 34, two under par, while Dr Hallum led with 32.
