Pioneer Natural Gas seeks 19 percent rate increase in Brady
Pioneer Natural Gas Company asked the Brady City Council for a rate hike or 19 percent after completing an 814 mile pipeline to connect three wells in Coleman County to the Brady gas system. Jim Davis of Amarillo said the Janellen Field is depleting and new lines with higher rates would maintain service, with a minimum monthly charge of $2 and potential average 1 percent increase. The project used 8 inch pipe at $117,612 instead of new 6 inch pipe to add capacity for future reserves. Mayor Kirk said the council will review and respond.
