An 814 mile Pioneer Natural Gas Brady system pipeline is nearly finished in Coleman County with crews active less than two weeks. The line from the John W. Vance ranch to Fisk will add about five billion cubic feet of gas, supporting a 15 year reserve and potential future wells.

Brady High Graduate Wins Four Year A and M Scholarship

Franklin Whitehead, Brady High School graduate, won a four year Opportunity Award Scholarship at Texas A&M College. Chosen from over 600 statewide candidates, the honor supports $800 to $1,200 total across four years with part time college employment. Whitehead plans to study mechanical engineering after Army service at Fort Knox starting July 11.

Jubilee Queen Reaches Miss Wool of Texas Final

Rawlings Elected President of McCulloch County Chest

Wayne Rawlings was elected president of the McCulloch County Community Chest at a directors meeting Tuesday afternoon. Dr. Robert Hays was named first vice president, Dr. Albert McCulloch second vice president, Mrs. Barry Francks secretary, and Larry Dahlberg treasurer.

Something for All At Brady Jubilee

Brady Jubilee kicks off its second annual run with pageant events and a parade in Bulldog Stadium. Miss Heart O Texas will be chosen Wednesday night and ride the parade float Thursday at 10 a.m. The schedule includes horse races cattle judging and dances at Richards Park and the National Guard Armory through Saturday with the Heart O Texas Sheep Dog Trials and Bor der Collie competition.

Wool Checks Go Into Mail in McCulloch County

The County ASC Office mailed 463 562.57 in wool incentive payments to McCulloch County producers for the 1958 1959 marketing year. The program aims to improve wool quality and market price while moving wool against competing fibers. Payments equal 70.3 percent of market prices, based on the 62 cent support price and 36.4 cent national average. McCulloch County sheep men surpassed the national average and are expected to earn above the support price.
