Youth Services Officer Visits Brady To Offer Community Aid

Ed Underwood of the Youth Services Resource Bureau in San Angelo met Brady residents to discuss services for youths up to 25. The CVCOG sponsored program aims to keep youth out of courts through counseling referrals residential placement and community problem solving.

Mrs. Kirklen Dies in Rest Home at 71

Mrs. A. D. Kirklen, 71, of Brady, died Wednesday at 4 45 am in Chandler Nursing Home after an illness. Funeral services were held Thursday at 2 pm in Wilkerson Chapel with Rev. Lamar Leifeste officiating. Burial was in Camp San Saba Cemetery. Survivors include her husband, a son Wayne Kirklen of Abilene, two sisters, three brothers, four grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Albert Neal Dies Thursday in Kerrville at 66

Albert Neal 66 of Kerrville and former Brady resident died Thursday morning after a long illness. Funeral services are set for 2:30 p m Saturday in Kerrville with burial there. He worked as a clerk for Broad Mercantile and later in the sewing machine business. former Scout master of Brady Troop 24. Church of Christ member. Survived by wife Orvella Valliant and a son Jerry Wayne Neal of California. Further details unavailable.

Bloodmobile Brings 71 Donors To Brady

Seventy one units of blood were drawn Tuesday at the Red Cross Bloodmobile visit in Brady. One, two, and three gallon donors were recognized, with sixteen first time donors, many high school students, showing strong community support. Col W L McDowell thanked volunteers from the Presbyterian Church Young Homemakers Club FFA and others for cookies recruiting and loading equipment and praised the Red Cross crew for the smooth operation.

Mrs. Lewallen Promoted To Asst. Cashier At Brady Bank

Brady National Bank stockholders met Tuesday afternoon and elected officers with one promotion. Mrs. Amos Lewallen becomes assistant cashier, joining president George Carruthers and others including Hardin H. Jones and D. A. Harkrider as vice presidents. Directors remain mostly the same with K. W. Huffman deceased. Architect plans expected by Feb 12 to invite bids.

Dollar Days Promos Set in Brady for February

Brady prepares for a midweek Dollar Days sale next week with over 100 in prize money funded by participating merchants. The Brady Chamber of Commerce backs the event but not the drawing funds. merchants contribute 10 each for the raffle. Mothers' March Monday Night In Mc Culloch County

Hazel Flournay 85 of Brady died at 3 35 a m Wednesday at Sheffield Rest Home. Funeral services Thursday at First Christian Church conducted by Rev Bill Boswell with burial in San Augustine. Born September 16 1886 she lived in Brady 16 years after living in San Augustine. widow of M C Flournay who died in 1955. Survived by daughter Mrs Wayne Spiller Brady son Jack Flournay California five grandchildren and a niece.
