Brady High football shows profit of 3490 this season

Brady High School football posted a 3490 profit this season with income from home and away games totaling 15057 and expenses 11556. The Mason game produced the largest gate at 3059. Profits fund other sports such as basketball and track, after official fees.

Mothers March Chairman Named

Mrs. Roy Ellison of Brady agreed to chair the 1964 Mothers March for the March of Dimes. She urged mothers to raise funds to aid birth defect treatment and noted the organization supports 44 birth defect centers, 25 arthritis treatment centers, and long term polio patient care. She called for volunteers and emphasized the impact of every hour donated.

Over 26 years the March of Dimes funded basic research totaling 81.1 million dollars on polio, birth defects and arthritis aiding the development of the Salk and Sabin vaccines and related breakthroughs.

Stock Show Sets Feb Show for 4-H and FFA Members

The Chamber of Commerce feeding program schedules a livestock show on Saturday February 1 at Richards Park barn. FFA and 4-H must show animals to qualify for an educational spring trip. Registration closes by 11 am. judging starts 1 pm with top placements announced later.

Burglaries Still Being Investigated

Sheriff Luke Vogel said investigators have several leads in a three store burglary spree on South Bridge Street the same man hit Kelso's Jewelry Thelma's Dress Shop and the Gents' Store. Footprints about 18 inches long linked the crimes with more than $10,000 in jewelry taken and $1,000 in apparel losses.

R J C Broman 71 prominent Melvin stock farmer died at 2 10 a m Wednesday in McKnight State Hospital near San Angelo after a year of illness. Born April 20 1892 in Kansas he lived in McCulloch County 50 years. He married Olive Hanson June 2 1914 in West Sweden. Funeral 1 30 p m Thursday at Wilkerson Chapel with Rev I R Mayers officiating.
