Mrs Bertie Della Davee 93 longtime McCulloch County resident died Tuesday 5 35 p m at Sheffield Rest Home after a long illness Funeral services were held Thursday at 3 pm in the Colonial Chapel Brady Funeral Home with minister Henry McBroom of the Fourth and Bridge Street Church of Christ officiating Burial followed at Rochelle Cemetery She was born April 5 1883 in Kempner and moved to Brady from Rochelle She married William Daniel Davee in 1904 in Lampasas He died in 1933 Survived by two daughters Mrs Eugene Sunvison and Mrs Roy Hammond two sons Aubrey and Bill Davee two brothers Levi and Ewing Shannon a sister Exa Shannon eight grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Brady Independent School District trustees extended contracts for Administrative Assistant Boyd Hunt High School Principal Al Chance Junior High Principal Grayson Wetzel Elementary Principals Paul Huntington and W. R. Fields through 1978 79 and gave Tax Assessor Collector John S. Lewis a one year extension. They also set the calendar from 180 to 179 days and approved a used school bus bid with the high bid of 603 dollars to the Brady Apostolic Church.

Plans for the 29th Annual Heart of Texas Band Festival on March 4-5 call for 238 students to be housed in Brady. Three bands Abilene Christian University Medina Valley Castroville High and Robinson Waco High will stay overnight. Citizens willing to host two or more students should call Mrs. Joe Warren or Mrs. Al Machen after business hours. Hosts to provide Friday supper and Saturday breakfast plus possible transport. ACU Band to perform Friday under Dr. Charles Traylor.

Richard Locke of Cherokee officiating. Burial in Marion Cemetery. Born Aug. 15, 1898 in Evansville Indiana he lived in McCulloch County since 1959. Retired banker formerly with El Centro California. Married Mary C Richter February 1 1942 in Yuma Arizona. Survived by wife, and was World War II veteran and Methodist member.

Mason Man Burned in Water-Well Drilling Accident
Jon L. Vater of Mason, 29, suffered second degree burns over 25 percent of his body in a well drilling mishap on the Earl Behrens farm at Voca. He described gasoline-soaked threads igniting when a cutting torch was lit after setting the casing. He was treated at Heart of Texas Memorial Hospital and rested comfortably.
