Odessa man charged with post office burglary
John Placide Mounce of Odessa was arrested south of Brady and charged with burglarizing the Camp San Saba Post Office. Police found three one dollar bills and a roll of stamps. He remained jailed on a 10000 dollar bond and faces transfer to federal authorities.

Two Brady Women Die In One Car Accident South Of Brownwood
Two long time Brady residents Miss Neacie Hughes 74 and Mrs. C W Wheeler 73 were killed when a car driven by Hughes left US 377 south of Brownwood overturned in a ditch and struck a culvert. Both died on arrival at Brownwood Community Hospital. Funeral services for Hughes were held in Wilkerson Memorial Chapel with burial in Cowboy Cemetery. Wheeler’s service followed at Wilkerson Memorial Chapel with burial in Rest Haven Cemetery. Survivors listed for both women include multiple nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
