William E. Moore Dies in Round Rock at 76

William Ervin Moore, 76, of Round Rock formerly of Brady, died of a heart attack at home and was pronounced dead on arrival at Breckenridge Hospital in Austin. He was a retired trucker-farmer, moved to Round Rock two years ago, born in Voca on July 7, 1888. Funeral services are set for Friday at 2 p.m. in Witherow Chapel, burial in Rest Haven Cemetery, survivors include wife Effie, three sons Jim F. Moore, Billie J. Moore, Ervin J. Moore, six daughters, 16 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Brady completes new sewage plant fully in operation

Brady Texas announces its new 324 952 sewer treatment facility is now in full operation as of February 1 after starting tests on January 6. The plant features two stage clarifiers Imhoff digester with sludge heaters and mixers two stage trickling filters and chlorine equipment among other systems. The city funded half through a federal grant with a total city cost of 162 426 and officials praise improved treatment capacity designed to serve about 2000 residents for many years.

Harlem Stars Bring March of Dimes Benefit Show

Harlem Stars head to Brady High School auditorium on Wednesday February 17 for a March of Dimes benefit game versus the Brady All Stars. Led by Bold Buie the team pledges close scores and enlivens the crowd with comedy rather than blowout play.

Rochelle FFA Members Compete in San Antonio Calf Scramble

Six Rochelle FFA members travel to the San Antonio Livestock Exposition to enter the calf scramble Friday night. Participants include Steve Moseley Gary Weatherman and Kaye Williamson with Paul Kruckemeyer Ricky Hagler and Rows Johnston as alternates. Ten calves vie for a $50 top prize and place money from 45 to 15 dollars. funds support FFA livestock projects. contestants must be 12 to 15 before Feb 22 1965.

Brady High Edges Round Rock In Double Overtime

The Brady High Bulldogs defeated Round Rock 79 to 76 in two overtimes after a back and forth contest. Harold Anderson led Brady with 26 points while Sherrill topped Round Rock with 28 as both teams eyed key district implications.

Courthouse Plaza to be landscaped by county plans

Lis Levell Kuykendall informed the Commissioners Court that an Extension Services representative will be invited to Brady to draft courthouse landscaping plans once approval is given. The court also designated Commercial National Bank of Brady as depository for all county funds including McCulloch County school funds for 1966-66.

Heart of Texas Riders Set Sunday Meeting at Rodeo Arena

The Heart of Texas Riders plan a Feb 14 2 pm membership meeting at the Rodeo Arena weather permitting a barrel racing and roping afternoon. Approval Granted on Brady Housing Plan

Housing Administrator Robert C. Weaver approves Brady plan to eliminate slums and blight and seek federal funds for a low rent housing project. Mayor John Rudder says fund application is automatic with plan approval. A federal ordinance on unsafe structures is being enforced and the project could total about $500 900 for 60 units with occupancy in four to six months. The Housing Authority will decide construction type and site and rents will be based on income. Architects say construction could begin in about eight months.

Pupettes Clinch District 8AA Title In Lassies Basketball

The Pupettes under Coach Maedell Long clinched the District 8-AA girls title with a win over Fredericksburg and hold a 6-0 district record.
