Brady Opens New 500 000 Gallon Water Tank
The City of Brady completed filling a new ellipsoidal water storage tank of 500 000 gallons at Burns and South Pine Streets. After filling, chlorination and a 24hour setting period, water samples will be tested in Brownwood. Pending tests, mains may be fed this weekend or early next week, though rust could appear briefly.

McCulloch County Deluged By Prolonged Rainfall
McCulloch County and the Heart of Texas received another soaking rain with more than half an inch in Brady by mid afternoon. A general fall covered the region with an inch reported in some areas and this month’s total rising to over 2.5 inches. The steady mist turned to drizzle through Monday night and Tuesday morning, marking a strong bottom season for the county. A rancher commented that the rains keep the land well saturated as attention shifts from rain gauges.

W N Willie White oldest McCulloch County native died in Brady Hospital at 11 p m after two months illness Funeral services were held at 3 p m Saturday at First Christian Church with burial in Live Oak Cemetery under Wilkerson Funeral Home He was born January 18 1879 in McCulloch County and married Nina Willoughby June 14 1903 They observed their 61st anniversary last June White served 50 years as director of the Commercial National Bank of Brady and owned ranching interests in Mercury community The White family historic land west of Mercury marks the Texas geographical center White helped build the present First Christian Church Brady and was noted for local history and sports enthusiasm Survivors include his wife a sister Mrs Fred Wulff Sr of Brady and several brothers with pallbearers named.

Funeral services for Edgar Nolan McBee 68 of Mercury were held at 4 p m Wednesday at Davia Morrie Funeral Home with Moore Eubank Church of Christ minister officiating. Burial followed at Cox Cemetery near Mercury. He died Tuesday morning in a Kerrville hospital after a three day illness. Born June 13 1906 in McCulloch County he lived in Mercury all his life. A World War II veteran and Church of Christ member he is survived by his mother Lulu McBee of Mercury two brothers Orble McRee of Mercury and Johnny McBee of Brownwood and a sister Effie Patterson of Brady.
