Red River Boom Town Was Rough and Tough
Burkburnett era reminiscences recall Bridgetown a rough oil boom town on the Red River. Stories describe lads with guns, jake drink in tiny bottles, and a once bustling bridge linking Oklahoma and Texas. The town faded after new bridges and oil decline, with the post office closing in 1935 and little remains today.
