Quain won the $10,500 bid to build offices laboratories restrooms lounge and air conditioning in Hangar B at Excalibur Aviation under a lease purchase agreement. Excalibur has a five year lease backed by local banks and a Loadcraft note. Plant employment at Excalibur rose to 865 as work proceeds.

J R Cochran 61 of Brady died at 2 20 p m Tuesday in Brady Hospital after a long illness. Funeral 10 a m Thursday at Wilkerson Memorial Chapel with Henry McBroom officiating. Burial in Voca Cemetery. Born January 20 1908 in San Saba County he lived in Brady 24 years. Survivors include his wife a son and a daughter seven grandchildren.

Pavement Topping at Junction of US 7 and 190
A new asphalt rock and sand topping is laid at the junction of U S 7 and 190 using a laydown machine at about 350 degrees over old pavement. After cooling, the surface is rolled. Donnie Campbell Honored as MVP in Texas Tourney
Former Brady High School tennis champion Donnie Campbell, now at Tarleton State, led Killeen in the Texas Amateur Softball Association Tourney in Brownwood earning the Harold Humber trophy. He pitched seven games including a no hitter and three straight shutouts to help Killeen finish fourth. The Humber trophy honors Harold Humber, a Brownwood and Refugio catcher killed in a car crash.
