Rural electric co op reports rate stability and rising usage
The Electric Co op notes no rate increase despite higher operating costs and rising consumption. Average bills grew from 5.01 in 1960 to 8.27, and kilowatt hour sales rose from 3,364,349 in 1950 to 7,923,579 in 1960. President W. E. Hardin credits progress and urges member families to learn the program’s history. Reducing kerosene use was a key aim as the rural system expanded.
