Man Escapes Jail by Digging Out Brick Wall
Lonnie Moore, 47, serving a year for wire theft from McCulloch County Electric Co-op, dug through bricks and escaped from a third floor cell Tuesday night. He lowered himself to a garage roof and jumped to the ground, leaving town unknown. Sheriff Luke Vogel noted no stolen cars and suspected the escape occurred between 11 p.m. and daylight Wednesday.

Fire chief husband and family fished Easter holiday at Herbergs lake when their car rolled 16 feet into Deep Creek water. Fire department divers located the auto 50 feet from shore and a winch truck recovered it after two and a half hours. The chief pondered whether to rebuild the motor given the potential cost.

Brady received a .44 inch shower on Thursday morning reported by local observer Mrs. Jay Cochran. Trip to San Antonio for 4-H and FFA youths postponed
A two day educational trip to San Antonio for McCulloch County youths in the Commercial Feeding Program has been postponed by one week. The event shifts from April 16-17 to April 25-24 due to Fiesta conflicts. Over 100 youths are expected to attend including 13 boys from Bola where a similar program began this year.
