Delegation Seeks Highway 59 Improvement Approval

A two day air show to dedicate Bowie's new airport features Elmo Bannister the world champion Bat Wing jumper from Julia Mississippi. Former Bowie Boy Killed in California
Luther M. Musick, formerly of Montague County and son of Mr. and Mrs. M. M. Musick of St. Joseph Texas, died September 2 after a fall from a bridge in California. Funeral services will be held at a Methodist Church with interment in Dye Mound Cemetery. His body will reach Bowie Friday and burial will be beside a sister who died in Montague County.

R M Gibson 92 longtime Montague county resident died at his daughter's home in Bowie after a brief illness. Funeral held at the home with Rev J H Westbrook presiding and burial in Elmwood Cemetery. Born in 1847 in Georgia he moved to Texas in 1874 and leaves a son Ed Gibson of Decatur and two grandchildren.

One Mile of Concrete Poured On Highway 370
Concrete began on a six mile stretch of U S Highway 370 from Belle vue to Bowie with prep work completed over the past year. J M Isbell of the State Highway Department said the segment from the county line to Bowie will take about two months to finish. Traffic detours include Henrietta to Bowie routes and Belknap Creek crossing noted at noon Wednesday.
