A group of sheep and goat raisers met at Bowie City Hall to form the Montague County Sheep and Goat Raisers Association. C. E. J M Childress Passes Away Retired minister dies in Bowie
Funeral services for J M Childress former Church of Christ minister were held at the Church of Christ with C A Norred of Fort Worth officiating. He died Monday night after years of ill health. Born November 11 1876 in Lavaca County Texas he married Ethel Covart in Palestine on November 28 1901. He moved to Bowie 31 years ago and retired seven years ago. Survivors include a daughter and two grandsons in Fort Worth and a granddaughter in Austin along with several siblings and out of town relatives.
