All Day Singing Held at Leona Sunday by S W Montague Singers
A large crowd attended the all day meeting of the Southwest Montague County Singing Convention held Sunday Dec 19 at Leona. President G Doc Jackson presided and opened with the opening song. The morning program featured quartet numbers and class songs directed by Barney White head and others. Afternoon events included quartet numbers from Electra Wichita Falls Olney Nocona and Bowie quartets with class songs directed by a slate of leaders.

Hospital Notes In Sunset Man Admitted After Buzz Saw Incident
Jim Durham of Sunset was admitted Saturday for a fractured leg after a buzz saw accident while he operated it with his nephew near Sunset. Hospital attendants hope to save his leg. Mrs. I. T. Inman of Bellevue was admitted Thursday for a tonsil operation.

Despite bad weather 57 Lions and guests attended the Thursday night box supper in the club room. Rev. A J Quinn auctioned boxes and a three tier cake donated by Glenn Trout. chocolates were given by Woody Biggerstaff M Posey and Harry Dreyfuss. Proceeds benefit the Community Christmas tree fund. Santa visited and toys were distributed to charity.
