Cornerstone Ceremony Set for National Youth Administration Building
The Bowie High School site will host the cornerstone laying Wednesday at 3 pm under Bowie Masonic Lodge. Congressman Ed Gossett and Jessie C. Kellar of Austin head the event with attendees from Fort Worth, Wichita Falls, Electra, Vernon and beyond. The $16,000 project, with $5,000 from Bowie School District, will house NYA students ages 18 to 24 and include 3600 in machinery. The Bowie School will send 25 boys daily to learn wood metal and shop work replacing the former Industrial Art class. a Smith-Hughes trained teacher will run the program alongside Vocational Agriculture.

Mrs. Blanche Irvine Buried Thursday in Bowie
Funeral services for 67 year old Mrs. Blanche Irvine were held Thursday at 1 30 p m at the family residence with Christian Science burial rites. Interment followed at Elmwood Cemetery Burgess Funeral Home conducted arrangements. She is survived by a daughter Mrs Jack Hanson of Longview a son Harry Irvine four sisters in California two sisters in Bowie four grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Funeral services for 71 year old J. W. Tice were held Friday December 8 at Mallard with Rev. C A Baxter officiating. Tice died Thursday morning at his daughter Mrs J P Rich’s home west of Bowie. He was born February 22 1868 near Hut ton Valley Missouri and moved to Texas at 16.
