Cake Walk and Street Dance To Benefit Band Uniforms
The Band Parents Association sponsors a Cake Walk and Street Dance to raise funds for new band uniforms. Director George Rucker notes prizes for best dancing couple and cakes donated by about thirty association members. The two hour program aims to fund upgrading the high school band’s forty six uniforms as larger students join for football season. The event has no expenses and seeks town support for a good clean entertainment.

An allotment to construct electric lines into Montague County has been granted to the Wise Electric Cooperative in Dallas. Montague County 111th Engineers Return From Camp Hulen
The 111th Engineers of the National Guard from Montague county returned to Bowie Saturday night around 10 o clock on a social troop train. They had spent two weeks in camp at Camp Hulen in Palacios Texas. About 1150 men and officers from Texas were in camp. Sixty five men and three officers from Montague county attended the encampment. Unit officers are Captain A A Sadler First Lieutenant W F Robinson Second Lieutenant Oran Stovall First Sergeant Thomas G Jones and Second Sergeant Howard B Williams.

Soil Conservation District Discussed in North Texas meeting
Approximately 100 landowners, Chamber of Commerce officials, and representatives from the Department of Agriculture and the State Soil and Water Board met in Gainesville in the district court room to discuss a proposed soil conservation district covering parts of eight counties. More Fish Placed In Lake Bowie
Bowie officials and anglers under J H Dozier placed over 18 000 fish in Lake Bowie this Thursday morning after 17 000 were added last Thursday from Bellevue Lake and the Dallas Hatchery. Fish ranged from four inches to several pounds. Dozier moved about 8000 fish to Diversion Lake Hatchery near Wichita Falls.

Belknap Baptist Church was organized Sunday afternoon in the Belknap community eight miles north of Bowie with fourteen charter members after a revival led by Rev. Dewey Barlow and Rev.
