Several hundred people gathered for a full day joint meeting of the Bowie and Saint Jo Farm Loan Associations at Pelham Camp Park. The program opened with a Bowie Band concert. Speakers included A S Elliott Montague County Agent Miss Opal Clayton and Mr McMurry of Fort Worth. J McAlly of the Federal Land and Bank Association spoke on farm loans and financing abroad. Directors were elected including W H Browning to fill an unexpired term.

Band Concert to Feature Loved Favorite Tunes
The Bowie City Band presents its weekly Saturday 8 15 pm concert with tunes from family favorites past and present. Residents are invited to bring relatives and enjoy nostalgic songs such as In the Shade of the Old Apple Tree and My Buddy while teens hear Donkey Serenade and The Toy Trumpet. The following Saturday a cake walk and street dance raise funds for new high school band uniforms. The season ends early September.

The Bowie School Board elected Mrs Will Young to teach English in the high school and to teach public school music, a new curriculum addition. Work Orders Issued on U S Highway 370

Over 17000 Fish Stocked In Lake Bowie In One Day
More than 17000 fish were released into Lake Bowie on Thursday from Lake Dallas Hatchery and Bellevue Lake. The shipment included 1400 channel cats 700 crappie 1100 bass 4500 bream plus 28 cans of bass crappie perch and channel cat from Bellevue. The operation was supervised by John Delfs assistant superintendent Dallas Hatchery. Some fish weighed up to seven and a half pounds. The drive to Diversion Lake failed and Lake Bowie benefited.
