Community notices from Bethel school events to Thanksgiving at the Opera House. Local travels include A H Johnson in Carthage and Chas E Felgar in Hamilton and Keokuk. Thanksgiving plans center on oysters at the Meat Market and a special Opera House program.
The Ever Loyal S S Class of the M E Church held a November social at Mr. and Mrs. W S Dennis home. Members voted to raise the church subscription balance, conducted a tag game, and enjoyed ham sandwiches cream puff and apples. Some members were absent due to sickness.
Parents warned that children may not notice constipation. The ad promotes Kexall Orderlies a mild laxative tasting like sugar sold by Marsh's City Drug & Book Store for 10 cents.
Coming events advertise B F Wallace’s circus and Carl Hagenbach Zoological Gardens in six reels of moving pictures and a 100000 dollar free street pageant. A triple menagerie features elephants lions tigers and more. 100 circus acts and 50 clowns promise a full show from train arrival to parade at the opera house on Thursday December 2.
Thanksgiving program at the Opera House next Thursday evening November 25 begins at 8 15. A two part drama Janes Declaration of Independence with vocal selections by Mack Bennett followed by Winter Nights and I Didnt Raise My Ford to Be a Jitney. The closing farce Dad Fell Out. Admission 5 and 10 cents.

Cannon-Younce Lee Cannon of Cunningham Kansas married last Tuesday night after delays. The ceremony took place on a hill near the county line with a minister found after several stops, the couple returning to Blackwell for the night and planning to reside in Clyde where Cannon works as a Santa Fe station agent.

Mrs Belle Flynn of near Jacksonsville Illinois died in the latter part of October in her 78th year She was the daughter of Eli and Miranda Garrett born in Bainbridge Indiana married to George Flynn in 1854 She was the mother in law of Rev Haas a former Methodist minister at West Point She visited often with Mrs Cynthia Garner of this city and will be remembered as a good Christian woman.
