Appointment as Deputy Grand Master Honors Local Leader

The Honorable Enoch H. Fleming of this city received appointment as Deputy Grand Master of the A F and A M for Hancock and Schuyler counties. He must visit about twenty lodges yearly in his district. The town is pleased by this honor and confident in his ability to fulfill the duties.

A birthday party for Silas, age nine, was held Saturday at the Dr F W Chandler home from 2 to 4 PM. The second room class of twenty six attended with treats of ice cream and cake. Silas received several gifts. hostesses included Miss Bertha Robertson, Gertrude Gillis, Mrs O M French and Walter Norris.

Roof Repaired on Masonic Hall and Rest Room Growth

A special meeting decided to coat the Masonic Hall roof with roofing paint and repair chimneys. Repairs began last Saturday and finished early this week. LaHarpe takes pride in its new Rest Room popular with country visitors. Merchants who funded it feel repaid by customer approval. Miss Nelle Roberts and Miss Nina Roberts left Monday for Clinton Missouri after extended visits with relatives.
