Mrs Moulton, freed from the island on a habeas corpus writ secured by attorney Frank Keezer, was placed on probation after Chief Justice Bolster ruled she should have been sent to Sherborn Woman's Prison rather than the House of Correction. She had been paroled from Sherborn, then jailed for five counts of larceny, and Bolster sent her back to complete the original sentence due to parole violation.
