Despatch from Roberts reports Watervalboven on September 20 where Pole-Carew broke through jungle ravines with little road. He captured thirty-eight flour cars, one coffee car, and nineteen damaged engines at Watervalender. Lieutenant A. P. Clarke was shot but not fatally while on rounds. at 8 he failed to hear a sentry's challenge.
