Assault on Miss Eva Baker in Gardner at Ashburnham to Ashby

In a two hour break in early morning masked burglars bound gagged and assaulted Miss Eva J Baker while her elderly father B B Baker incapacitated by palsy. The burglars looted the home left with cash gold jewelry and a watch. Three men Sullivan King and Foley were arrested later that day and arraigned in Ashburnham.

Missing Aided in His Downfall at Newton Upper Falls

Tin Plate Prices Cut by Sixty-Five Cents a Box

Arson Moison Arrested in Oxford for Holyoke Slaying

Ansonia Conn Sept 2 Arthur Moison wanted in Holyoke Mass for manslaughter, was arrested in Oxford today and taken to Holyoke to stand trial. It is alleged in self defense he struck a companion on the head with an iron pointed staff, killing him instantly and then fled.

Alderman Adams Receives Gold Watch at Republican Club

The North Dorchester Republican Club on Dorchester Avenue overflowed as Alderman Adams was presented a gold watch and chain. Fred A. Janisky delivered the presentation speech, followed by Aaron Wilson, William Leach, Arthur L. Whitemore, and Frank A. Foster speaking in support of Adams for the Legislature from Ward 20.

Snatched Purse on Clarendon Street

On Clarendon street last night a sprinting chase unfolded after James Williams 22 colored man snatched the purse of Mrs Jeanette Fisher of 116 Chandler street. Patrolman Mc Hugh of Station 5 pursued and recaptured the pocketbook containing 1.66 dollars. Williams was soon apprehended on a larceny from the person charge.

Ellenora Vanduse Schooner Strikes Dog Bar Breakwater

In dense mist off Gloucester on September 20 the three masted Ellenora Vanduse ran ashore on Dog Bar rocks while bound from Bay View to New York with 23100 paving stones and 8 tons of granite. Captain H M Godfrey and six crew escaped in a small boat, losing all belongings as the vessel likely went to total loss.
