Fifty of the first boys to be received at the reopened naval training station have graduated and been sent to the submarine base at New London. About 650 remain, with 200 under detention. most of the rest are quartered on the old Constellation while a portion of barracks is used for overflow. Captain Evans aims to economize by using the old ship for barracks until a larger intake justifies opening the new large barracks and its costs.
