Two Boys Die In Rail Crossing Accident At Hatfield
North Hatfield Sept 18 Two boys William Morton age 17 and Charles Atkins age 5 were struck and killed instantly by the Montreal express on the Connecticut River railroad while driving a lumber load over a grade crossing near the station. Jurotas Morton 65 father and uncle to the boys was seriously hurt. The father cannot explain the tragedy and witnesses were scarce. The train was not visible for long before crossing. a frightened horse may have caused the accident. Morton was a Smith Academy graduate.
