Railroads approve Kovsatonic Norwalk lease in Connecticut

Stockholders of the Kovsatonic, Danbury and Norwalk railroads ratify a ninety nine year lease transferring the Norwalk line to Kovsatonic. The deal provides guaranteed bond interest, 5 percent stock interest for Danbury & Norwalk, takes effect immediately but changes start Oct 1. Through passenger and freight routes shift via Bridgeport and Norwalk. Bridsreeport remains the Housatontie main office.

Louisville and St. Louis Air Line machinery removal incident

An Evansville despatch reports about midnight on September 11 125 section end bridge men tore up and removed machinery from the Air Line shops to ship to Jeffersonville. City attorney issued an injunction but pavers were not stopped in time. machinery was removed. The city will claim a $100 000 salt donation tied to shop establishment and maintenance, arguing a Jeffersonville decision allows recovery against a road entering that city.

NO UNION PACIFIC DIVIDEND THIS FALL

President Adams states the Union Pacific Railroad has not authorized any dividend and directors have not considered the matter.
