Ottawa Ont Sept 16 The prisoner Sproule who was to be hanged on Sept 18 has been granted another reprieve until Oct 1 while further legal steps are pursued. The US consul here has not yet learned Washington’s intended action in the matter.

Progress on the new court house foundations and tower
Work continues at the court house site with E B Studley directing the north end and the main cellar foundation ready for brick work. The tower foundation is 27 feet deep, cell walls near Somerset Street, and delays come from removing brick and earth. About 100 men are at work, uncovering relics as foundations progress. This week 137 people applied for naturalization papers at the Dover Supreme Court clerk’s office.

Testimony was heard in Boston on the Aug 23 collision between the steamer Chatham and the yacht Edith in the Narrows. Henry W. Old Colony Line Promotes Plymouth County Fair Excursions
The Old Colony railroad offers low fare excursion tickets to the Plymouth county fair in Bridgewater next week. Tickets go on sale in Boston Quincy Braintree and all Plymouth road stations including those between South Braintree and Fall River. A 10:05 a.m. Boston to Bridgewater through train travels Thursday and Friday returning at 1:50 p.m. A special train will leave South Abington for Bridgewater upon Plymouth’s 0:30 a.m. arrival. A 3:40 p.m. Bridgewater departure on those days links to Plymouth and the Abingtons.
