Explosion damages Quincy office in Faxon Block
A copper boiler in the Citizens' Gas Light Company office in the Faxon Block on Granite Street exploded at 11 20 tonight. It shattered several plate glass windows and broke a water main, causing about 500 dollars in damage. No injuries were reported as nearby streets were deserted.

Trust Co Head Dies by His Own Hand in New York
John W. Castles, president of Union Trust Company of this city with a $1,000,000 capital, killed himself at the Grand Union Hotel this afternoon, his death attributed to a nervous breakdown amid ill health and not to financial troubles. he was found dead across a bed tonight and was a director in other corporations and a prominent social figure in the city and the South.

The body of Burton S. Castles was found about 9 pm by his brother after a search of the city hotels. He registered at the Grand Union this afternoon and slashed his throat with a razor, leaving an unlabeled eight ounce bottle of pungent acid nearby. Castles, once president since Jan 1, had health problems from overwork and spent time in a Korhankson sanitarium, returning to New York with an attendant before his final trip last Wednesday.
