Bicycle Boy Dies After Car Crash in Jamaica Plain
Nine year old Joseph C. Stedman Jr. of 61 Pond Street Jamaica Plain was struck from behind by a touring car owned by Attleboro jeweler Charles F. Tappan and driven by Aubrey A. Nelson. He died at Faulkner Hospital from a fractured skull. Nelson was arraigned in Jamaica Plain District Court on manslaughter charges and held on 5000 bond for a September 20 hearing.
