Express engineer recalls fatal train collision in fog

Engineer Callahan, one of the road's oldest hands, tells how a late heavily loaded passenger train could not halt in time for a freight approaching in dense fog. He and fireman Mr. Little leaped into the ditch as the emergency brakes were applied.

35th Anniversary of Wreck at Same Place

Briggs, John G. Duncan, H. D. Stevens, and the infant child of Irving Gifford, all connected to New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, and Quebec. One note says Stevens travels to Boston to see his wife under lung treatment at 363 Massachusetts Avenue.

Baggage Car Crashes Into Passenger Coach in Fog

A Quebec express bound for Boston crashed head on with a freight train near Canaan New Hampshire at 4 26 am. Fifty or more were injured and twenty five killed as wreckage trapped victims. Relatives and doctors arrived while relief trains and hospitals treated the injured.
