Bank cashier Bailey held in Colebrook embezzlement case

Harry F. Bailey formerly cashier of Colebrook National Bank and treasurer of Colebrook Savings Bank, both in Colebrook New Hampshire, is under arrest on embezzlement charges. Arrest ordered by the state bank commissioners. Bailey held on 5000 dollars bail for October term of the Supreme Court.

McDuffee Breaks Records in 20 Mile Motor Pace

HEd die McDuffee defeated Ben Munroe at Buttonwood cycle track in New Bedford in front of about 4000 spectators. The race set several world records as McDuffee led from the second mile, posting 1:35 for the third mile and finishing with a last mile of 1:39 while lapping Munroe in the sixth mile.

Solemn services marked the Day of Atonement as orthodox Jews fast for 24 hours. Mr. Preston Refutes Harbor Unsafe Claim and Supports Channel Work

Mr Preston dismisses Mr Martins view that the harbor is unsafe for large steamers and argues Ultonia struck foul ground south of the channel. Henry Clarke Arrested in Chelsea Break In Case

Patrolman O Neil of the Chelsen police brought Henry G Clarke to Chelsea from Portland Maine on charges of breaking and entering the homes of Charles H Lovett and Daniel L Lord in June. Clarke, 22, is linked to the Crescent Beach Strathmore hotel fire seven or eight years ago and other arsons in Chelsea, with prior time served at Concord.
