Beauties of Venice Illumination at Charles River Carnival

Distinguished guests, special Fitchburg trains, and a mass of lanterns, boats, and fireworks drew 10 000 to 15 000 spectators despite a brief shower. The event featured the White Swan steamer, multiple canoe clubs, hundreds of lanterns, and decorations from local homes and clubs, with a Venetian motif and extensive lighting along the riverbanks.
