The typical dose is a large wineglassful taken fasting with hot water. Sir Henry Thompson endorses it noting the longer it is taken the smaller the dose required.
The Boston Executive Committee reports distress in Charleston and urges rapid subscriptions from all, noting Faneuil Hall marketmen have given 2500 dollars. Clergymen are asked to collect next Sunday, with funds sent to treasurer Eben D. Jordan at Jordan, Marsh & Co. in Boston.

In Montreal on September 9 Judge Taschereau quashed the caps against S. L. Goldstein at the request of E. N. Morton of Boston. The debt was contracted outside Quebec, and Goldstein now sues Morton for 10000 dollars for false arrest.
