William F Havemeyer 63 former Havemeyer Brothers sugar refiners executive died in his son in law William R Willcox's apartment at 11 East Forty fifth Street New York death due to angina pectoris believed to be during sleep He was a son of Mayor William Havemeyer and held posts including NYU councilman trustee of University Place Presbyterian Church founder of Havemeyer Laboratory at NYU and member of several banks and boards He is survived by wife daughter and three sons Hector Arthur Raymond.

Ministers Dance Aboard Leyland Steamer in Boston Harbor

The Leyland line steamer Canadian arrived in Boston with 106 cabin passengers and six college men. Woman Manacled to Post in Manila District

A 37 year old woman Marcela Concepcion was found tied to a post with wood blocks on her ankles in Montalban. Officials released her and she is now confined at San Lazaro Hospital for the Insane.

Eddie Foy's Son Too Young to Sing

Eddie Foy the comedian was summoned to appear in Jefferson Market Police Court to answer a charge that his son Richard aged 18 sang in public without a permit. Labor Meetings Back Free State University Plan

The Boston Central Labor Union urged a free State university for young men and women. Delegates McCarthy and Fenton were named to push resolutions at the Massachusetts State Branch A F of L convention and to sponsor a bill at the State House next year. The group discussed agricultural instruction for Boston and referred findings to the educational committee. New delegates joined Machinists Lodge 264 and other unions as the Labor Day parade was praised as the largest in years.
